Display and Safety Team - February 16-18, 2021 - Virtually review student entry materials for compliance with safety and competition rules according to check list.

Online Research Paper Competition Judging - February 5-16, 2021.

Round 1 Project Judging - February 19-24, 2021 - Pre-judging of Student Entered Materials

Round 2 Project Judging - February 26, 2021 - Live online judging with interaction with students.

SHOES: Fee free to wear comfortable shoes. Tennis shoes or walking shoes are certainly acceptable.

PARKING: We recommend the Midway Parking Lot on Liggett St. See Schedule Tab, Maps page

FOOD: On Friday, February 25, 2022, the fair provides a catered dinner (buffet style from Mintáhoe Catering and Events) and later some pizzas are added to the buffet. All volunteers and judges are included in the dinner.

Thursday, February 27, 2020 - Fair Day Thursday

12:30 PM to 03:00 PM   4 Volunteers - *** NEED MORE HELP THURSDAY afternoon*** We need help to help cover tables with roll of plastic given and mark and tape numbers to each spot. Vital set up function, Free parking.


Friday, February 28, 2020 - Fair Day Friday

08:00 AM to 10:00 AM   0 Volunteer - Assist with set up (chairs, tables, carting materials to the appropriate tables, covering tables, measuring 48” wide for each project, taping down pre-printed project numbers to each spot per floor design map)
10:00 AM to 01:00 PM   0 Volunteer - Additional set up: carting materials to the appropriate tables; set up for Registration table, Scientific Review Committee table, judge registration table, and awards tables
12:30 PM to 04:00 PM   0 Volunteer - Student registration table – hand out paperwork to students as they check in. Registration is open from 1-4 for the students. No special skills needed.
12:30 PM to 04:00 PM   12 Volunteers - Safety and Display Committee – No previous experience necessary. Check all student exhibits before judging for compliance to rules. A checklist is provided. Report any violations.
01:00 PM to 05:00 PM   0 Volunteer - “Answer people” who can answer questions and point students, parents, teachers, judges, and other volunteers to the correct location/table in the Coliseum.
02:30 PM to 05:30 PM   2 Volunteers - Special Awards Judging table to assist the Special Awards Chairwoman – help get the judging packet for each special awards judge. Make sure judges checking in have their materials (pencils, clip board, program, etc.).
02:30 PM to 05:30 PM   3 Volunteers - Judge Registration table – match judge badges to judging packets & set out pre-printed judging assignments on the judging table. Make sure judges checking in have their materials (pencils, clip board, program, etc.).
03:30 PM to 09:00 PM   2 Volunteers - Set up judge/volunteer food buffet from catered food and replenish near empty serving dishes with new full serving dishes from the warmer. Also watch to be sure only volunteers and judges with a badge are coming in the dinner area.
04:30 PM to 09:30 PM   3 Volunteers - Show floor “security” roving the floor to keep people out of the show floor except for judges & students. (No parents, no teachers, no friends in the show floor area during judging.)
05:00 PM to 11:00 PM   5 Volunteers - Assist the Awards Chairperson - Data Entry for projects winning special awards. Check proposed winners against award criteria. Help print award certificates from templates.
05:00 PM to 09:45 PM   2 Volunteers - Judge Registration table to pick up completed judge score sheets and deliver them to data processing.
05:00 PM to 09:45 PM   5 Volunteers - Enter judge scores in the Data Processing Center (next to Judge Registration).
07:00 PM to 11:00 PM   12 Volunteers - Stuff student envelopes with the correct ribbon color from the list provided by data processing.
10:00 PM to 11:30 PM   4 Volunteers - Set up the awards table for the next morning, and to set up the student registration tables for student envelopes with ribbons to hand out at 8 AM Saturday. Also lists of those advancing to state and the alternates must be posted.


Saturday, February 29, 2020 - Fair Day Saturday

07:45 AM to 10:00 AM   8 Volunteers - Student Registration table – hand out paperwork/envelopes to students. No special skills needed.
09:30 AM to 11:30 AM   0 Volunteer - Dignitary handlers. Welcome dignitaries and help get them to the correct place for the awards program.
